Policing

In the Policing sector, Leaders Unlocked provides young people with a platform to influence decisions about policing and crime prevention. In partnership with Police & Crime Commissioners (PCCs), we have developed the Youth Commission model to enable young people to inform policing decisions in their regions.

“The great thing about the Youth Commission is the peer-to-peer approach and the way the young people use their existing networks to reach out to a large number of other young people. The reach has been phenomenal - across schools, colleges, hostels and other settings.”

Dan Howitt, Office of the PCC for Nottinghamshire

"There has been a real culture change at the top. We had such a challenge as to how to engage thousands of young people in Nottinghamshire. There was a massive generational gap, we spoke a different language and it was overwhelming. Leaders Unlocked has helped us to bridge that gap."

As a person of colour, I have had racially unjust experiences which affected my view of the world. Being part of the Student Commission on Racial Justice has helped me, to help people like me, feel that they belong.
