Lead Yourself to Law is a project that has been co-produced with young adults themselves. The project comprises of the following elements:
Work placements: Each year, a group of young adults are selected to take part on week-long work placements at the firm. These individuals are carefully selected on the basis of their interests and matched with an appropriate supervisor.
Mentoring: Participants receive one-to-one mentoring for at least 6 months with a professional from the firm. The structure for the mentoring has been devised with input from the young people, and the mentors are matched to the interests and aspirations of the mentees.
Taster Day: Each year, a group of 20 young people are recruited from London colleges to come to a Taster Day at the offices of Hickman and Rose. This day is designed by young adults to ensure that it addresses their needs. It features a range of elements such as career talks from different members of the firm, CV building, mock interviews, networking, tips for applying to university or training schemes.
If you’re interested in getting involved with the work we do at Leaders Unlocked, please do send us a message via our contact us page. We are always keen to hear from young people who may want to take part in our projects, as well as professionals who may want to collaborate.

As a person of colour, I have had racially unjust experiences which affected my view of the world. Being part of the Student Commission on Racial Justice has helped me, to help people like me, feel that they belong.
